This section contains many sketches by Viterbo artist Francesco Nagni for works done in bronze and present throughout the world. The majority of his works are in Italy where he had many state and church commissions. Viterbo has two of his works done in the 60s: the monument to the III Granatieri Regiment in bronze in Piazza della Rocca and L’Assunta in bronze in Piazza dei Caduti (the Sacrario). Nagni taught at Rome’s Fine Arts Academy, was a member of S. Luca Academy, the Virtuosi at the Pantheon and the Clementina Academy of His largest model is that of St. Peter and all the models were donated to Mons. Salvatore del Ciuco, the Museum’s first director who then donated them to the Museum.
