Archaeological digs
XII-XIII d.C.

With the inauguration of the Museum in the Jubilee year 2000, several changes were made to prepare the structure for new use. During these works the cemetery area and a few tombs in situ emerged and were saved from the restoration works. The burials of the loggetta type, are datable in the arc of time between the 12th and 13th centuries.

The area is located near the left nave and the apse. From the small garden adjacent it is possible to see the exterior of the left apse and the wall of the Cathedral’s Baroque choir.
