This book tells of the enigmatic flourishing center in the Etruscan land. The Romans called it Tuscana, indicting it as arx, citadel, fortress or as civitas. The name was changed later to Toscanella and Tuscania. More fortunate was the name to indicate the Etruscan land: Tuscia and Toscana.

It was the “sacred place” a land where the gods and heroes who made Italy great lived, where Christianity made its first trials and where pages were written that we are losing  due to avidity and the carelessness of men today. The Archeotuscia association of Viterbo (www.archeotuscia.it) is trying to gather all the indications and testimonies to help us read these pages and arrive to the truth.
