Santa Rosa da Viterbo – Storia, culto, tradizione

Santa Rosa da Viterbo – Storia, culto, tradizione

Book in Italian – This work comes from the need for a better understanding of the many centuries of tradition of the Macchina di Santa Rosa: the devotion, curiosities, cult and traditions, the real significance of the festival celebrated each September 3rd in Viterbo. It is born from the experiences matured  serving the many out of town people who, visiting our city, remain fascinated and surprised by the beauty of the medieval architecture, the history and traditions that, notwithstanding the passage of time, are passed down with passion and constant, unchanging fervor. It is our proposal to help satisfy those who, especially for the first time, feel the suggestive reality of the transport of the Macchina and instead of remaining indifferent are completely fascinated and enthralled. This work wishes to help satisfy the curiosities of the story of Santa Rose, the cult of the “Holy Child”.
