For the author figurative art is one of the most important expressions of every culture since it expresses an objectivity of reality and activity of mankind. The objective of the book is to give body to a method of analysis that does not run from the stages of conscience and the unconscious phenomenon connected to the creation and the contemplation of works of art.

THE AUTHOR

Fulvio Ricci earned his Laurea degree in Letters from the University of Rome La Sapienza, in History of Medieval Art. Since 1997 he has collaborated with the University of Tuscia in Viterbo. Since 2007 he has been  the scientific coordinator for the information magazine (ISSN2036-6264) of the Viterbo Province. In the academic year 2010-11 he held courses of “Iconology and Iconography” at the Accademia Lorenzo da Viterbo. 

Ricci is author of numerous articles and essay on history of art on specialized magazines and curator of numerous art exhibits. For several years he has centered his research on complex aspects of art where analytic methods of iconography and iconology are mixed with anthropological research, semiotics and psychology of art of forms. In “Il Nudo nell’arte” one can  find the results of some of these researches.
