HOW DOES ONE BECOME A PORTER?

A few months before the transport (at the end of June) there is a trial each aspiring porter must undergo to become porter: he must be between 18 and 35 years of age, with medical certificate and be able to carry a case weighing 150kg on his shoulders for 90 metres around the circuit in the Church della Pace.
Those who are already porters must confirm their ability to do the transport.
